I grew up on the lovely Oregon coast where my father was a science teacher and owned/operated marine science camps every summer. I loved the beach and all the cool creatures!

I moved to Seattle after high school to attend Seattle Pacific University and graduated with a BS degree in Biology and my secondary teaching certificate. A few years later I finished my Master’s degree in education with an emphasis on learning styles and curriculum development.

For 12 terrific years, I shared my passion for science at a public High School. I taught Honors Biology, regular Biology, and Earth Science, while also coaching track. I was also part of the program to train our school’s counselors for an outdoor education program.

Once my children were born, I shifted my focus to designing and instructing science classes for homeschool co-ops at all grade levels. After a while, I started up my own science camps that I run every summer for several different age groups.

I founded my Wholistic Learning Success Coaching program where I work with students to help them become happy, competent, and confident learners.

Outside the classroom, my adventuresome spirit finds expression in my love for travel and passion for running. I’ve proudly ran the Boston Marathon twice and done over 200 races including some triathlons.  My travels have twice brought me to Kenya twice to teach in a rural village and have loved the connections I have made around the world.
